A product guide for walk-in customers, in three languages
- 332 fragrances
- 40+ brands
- 3 languages
The goal
A customer walks into the shop and faces several hundred bottles. They cannot tell from the packaging what any of them smell like, what is in them, or which one suits the person they are buying for, and there is rarely enough staff on the floor to talk every one of them through it. The information exists — it is just in somebody's head. This puts it on the customer's own phone, in the language they actually read, at the moment they are standing in front of the shelf.
What it is
An installable web app covering 332 fragrances across 40+ brands, complete in English, Sinhala and Tamil. Customers browse the collection with filters for brand, scent family, who it is for, type, price and what is actually in stock, read the full notes and current price on any product, or take a six-question quiz that narrows it to three recommendations. There is a Perfume 101 section and a glossary for anyone who wants to understand what the terms mean, and a separate staff view with selling notes. A QR code at the counter opens the app; every product tester carries its own QR that opens that product's page directly. It installs to the home screen without an app store, and it has a light and a dark theme.
Install it to the home screen and the whole catalogue — all 332 fragrances, all three languages, the quiz — keeps working with no connection at all.
Where it gets used: a QR code at the counter opens the app.
